Welcome to my Narrative Unit!
This is the unit we learned all about animation! Exciting I know! It was so much fun, I came up with a story about a vengeful cat. On this page you will be able to see my Graphic Novel. If you do not know what a Graphic Novel is, it is basically my Comic Strip of my animation. Also there will be my Flash Fiction, which is a story that only has 500 words and no dialogue. Let me tell you, 500 words is difficult for me. I had to simplify my story multiple times. Another project you will find on my page is our draft of our animation. Go see it! Really! You will not be disappointed. Lastly, you will see my Illustration Board, and Artist Statement that I did in Design class. We used a new software in this unit, which was Illustrator, it is really cool. This was an amazing unit, but you should see for yourself! CLICK the photo, and go onto my Narrative Webpage!
Welcome to my Profile Unit!
This is the unit that we experimented with writing a documentary and interviewing people. I decided to write about an organization called Project Linus. They make handmade blankets for children in need. I wanted to show how much love every blanket is made. These volunteers or also known as Blanketeers. They all hope that their blankets bring shelter to children. In English we were asked to write an article, we had to do some research, as well as transcripts. In Design we were asked to design our own magazine for our subjects, and to design a graphic design. My design was a drawing of a knitting ball with needles. In Web audio we were asked to create our documentary website, and a commercial that will introduce our subjects. On this website you will find my commercial, screen shots of the process of the commercial and the magazine. There will also be 16 photos that I have taken, and lastly my bios which is my interviewees with the audio of their interviews. This unit was inspiring. It was a long process, but in the end it was completely worth it. I hope you like it! Click below and find out more!
Welcome to my Explorations Unit!
This is the unit we were asked to pick a new skill we wanted to learn. This project was mainly about the process of learning our skill, and not the final project. I choose to learn more about creating music. Especially soundtrack music on Reason. I had a lot of fun with this project. I was inspired by the composer John Powell, and Enya. For this project we were also required to create a Infographic. An Infographic is a chart that is built up of graphs and icons. I choose to research the marketing side of movie albums. I learned a lot from this project, I will definitely create more music in the future. Click the picture below to hear my music!
Welcome to my Reflection Unit! The purpose of this integrated Reflections Project is begin to learn communication techniques and skills to explore and answer the question of "Who am I?" In Webaudio we did two videos, one was about the five things we have learned, and the other was a Perspective video. We learned more skills in After Effects, by using a camera we were able to make our movies look 3D. We also learned how to select objects in a photo in Photoshop, in order to move them futher or closer in After Effects. For Design we took HDR photos about an essay of our choosing that we wrote in English. HDR is at least three to five photos taken with different exposures. We then merged those photos in Photoshop to have a perfect exposed photo. The essay I chose was my Common App Essay, which was about the failures I have had in my life and what I have learned from them. Since I am dyslexic I have failed alot in my life. We also wrote another essay based on the book we read in English called Citizen by Claudia Rankine. The book was about the racism African Americans face everyday. The writing style for our essay had to be lyrical, I decided to write about the racism my friend faces for being Asian. This unit has taught me to look deep inside and figure out who I am. I have learned that I should see my dyslexia as a gift rather than a curse. I have also learned how to express what is going on in my mind through photography and words. And I have learned that although I do not see racism happening in front of me that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Find out more by going to my website.
